Pine Needles

  • Warning
  • Pine needles will add more acidity to the soil, so be careful where you use it, as most plants don't prefer highly acidic soil.
  • Blueberries thrive with pine needle mulch, so it's best to save it for them.
  • Spread a thick layer of needles (approximately 5-7.5 cm or 2-3 inches) around the base of your blueberry bushes, and keep it away from the rest of the garden.
