Cosmos

  • This annual is very tall with fine green foliage and blooms of white, pink or red.
  • If your garden is small, plant them at the back for a nice border effect.

  • Cosmos like to have fullsunbut will do alright in lightly shady areas.
  • They aren’t fussy aboutsoiltype as long as they receive an average amount of water.
  • Plant the seeds ¼ inches deep (0.5 cm).
  • They will reach a height of 4 feet (1.2m) and spread out to 3 feet wide (90 cm).
  • Thin the seedlings to 2 feet apart (65 cm) for show plants.
  • The seeds can be saved or you can let them reseed themselves.
  • If your garden gets a lot of wind be sure to stake or tie up these flowers.
